These are a lovely species of roach that can be kept as pets, or used as feeder insects.
They're able to produce a hissing sound by expressing air from their spiracles (breathing holes).
They are handleable and don't bite so are a great pet for children.
They feed on a variety of foods including fruit & vegetables, gecko food and decaying leaf litter.
Keep in a similar way to isopods.
They can be kept alone (they are social), or in a gecko enclosure as they pose no harm to geckos.
